Sloppy Joe's
This recipe is actually courtesy of ed levy, owner of the now defunct neba roast beef restaurant near grand & washington. ed's wife bonnie was a good friend of Jeannette's in the 1970's when they both worked at the phone company.
still the best sloppy joe's I've tasted.
Libby has heard that Jeannette found this recipe in a magazine in the late 70s or early 80s. One of us has been misled.
Ingredients:
1 lb. Ground Beef 1 Green Pepper, chopped
½ Onion, chopped dash Salt
dash Pepper ¾ cup Ketchup
2 Tbsp. Mustard 2 Tbsp. Sugar
2 Tbsp. Vinegar
Method: Brown the Ground Beef with the Onion, Green Pepper, Salt and Pepper.. drain.
mix Ketchup, Mustard, Vinegar, and Sugar and add to Ground Beef mixture.
simmer on low heat 30 minutes.
