Buttercream Icing
From a set of her traditional recipes that mom Ggrandma Jinny) gave to Paul & Janet as a wedding present.

yield: 3 cups
Ingredients:
½ cup Butter or Margarine, cold & firm ½ cup vegetable Shortening
4 cups sifted Powdered Sugar 1 tsp Vanilla
2 Tbsp. cool Milk or Cream
Method: Place Butter and Shortening in a small bowl. Beat with mixer until Creamy.
Add Sugar ½ cup at a time and beat after each addition.
Add Vanilla, then Milk or Cream. Beat well again.
